Notorious and at some point sinistrous, the Golden Triangle is known for its colorful history of opium or poppy cultivation. This comprises of 3 countries namely Thailand, Laos and Myanmar where the Mekong River serves as the common ground in the middle. In order to see and experience the transformed convergence, boats may be hired to travel upstream leading to the scenery.
